Mouse monoclonal [BDI205] to Antithrombin IIIAntithrombin III (ATH III) is a plasma protein synthesised in the liver. Normal plasma levels are 115-160mg/L. ATH III consists of a single polypeptide chain and has a molecular weight of 58kDa. ATH III is a serine protease inhibitor and regulates coagulation by the formation of covalently-liked complexes. ATH III also has a heparin binding site and in the presence of heparin the inhibition of thrombin, factors IXa, Xa and XIa is enhanced 1000-fold. Low levels of ATH III (functional or concentration) are associated with deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Antithrombin assays are based on immunologic, enzymatic, or clotting properties.

BL: Use at an assay dependent dilution. GTX40933 inhibits plasma antyithrombin III activity in chromogenic thrombin assays in the presence of excess heparin and blocks purified IIa inhibition activity and purified Xa inhibition activity in the absence of heparin. Dot: Use at a concentration of 1 - 5 μg/ml. ELISA: Use at a concentration of 1 - 5 μg/ml. P: Use at an assay dependent dilution for the purification of plasma Antithrombin when coupled to sepharose. WB: Use at a concentration of 1 - 5 μg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 53 kDa. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
