Application
Western blot analysis of BID-GST fusion protein. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA/0.1%TBST for at least 1 hour. Membranes were then probed with BID antibody [23F7] at a dilution of 1:1000 overnight at 4°C on a rocking platform. Membranes were washed in TBS/0.1%Tween-20 and probed with a HRP-conjugated secondary antibody. The encoded protein is a member of the BCL-2 family of cell death regulators. It is a mediator of mitochondrial damage induced by caspase-8 (CASP8); CASP8 cleaves this encoded protein, and the COOH-terminal part translocates to mitochondria where it triggers cytochrome c release.
