Product Profile
Product Name Blood Group Lewis y antibody [F3]
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Mouse monoclonal [F3] to Blood Group Lewis yBlood group related antigens represent a group of carbohydrate determinants carried on both glycolipids and glycoproteins. They are usually mucin-type, and are detected on erythrocytes, certain epithelial cells, and in secretions of certain individuals. Sixteen genetically and biosynthetically distinct but inter-related specificities belong to this group of antigens, including A, B, H, Lewis a, Lewis b, Lewis x, Lewis y, and precursor type 1 chain antigens. Lewis y (type 2 chain) antigen is a difucosylated tetrasaccharide found on the Type 2 blood group oligosaccharides of glycolipids and glycoproteins. It is expressed in large bowel tumors and colorectal carcinomas. It may be useful in the classification of human renal and bladder tumors. The Lewis y antigen has been evaluated as a clinical marker for the diagnosis and prognosis of cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma and breast cancer.
Immunogen SK-LU-3 lung cancer cell line (Human).
Key Feature
Clonality Monoclonal
Isotype IgM
Clone Number F3
Host Species Mouse
Tested Applications FACSIHC-PWB
For FACS: Use at an assay dependent dilution. For IHC-P: Use at a dilution of 1:40 or greater, for Biotin-based detection systems. For optimal stainning, the primary antibody should be incubated 20-60 minutes at RT. Pre-treatment not required. For WB: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the researcher.
Species Reactivity Human
Concentration 1mg/ml
Target Information
Target Blood Group Lewis y
Tissue Specificity This antibody belongs to the BG-8 group of murine monoclonal antibodies and is specific against the Lewis y (Type 2 Chain) antigen.
Application Notes For FACS: Use at an assay dependent dilution. For IHC-P: Use at a dilution of 1:40 or greater, for Biotin-based detection systems. For optimal stainning, the primary antibody should be incubated 20-60 minutes at RT. Pre-treatment not required. For WB: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
