Rabbit polyclonal to BRCA1BRCA 1 contains at least two nuclear localization signals and is proposed to be a tumor suppressor protein. It is a serine phosphoprotein that undergoes hyperphosphorylation during late G1 and S phases of the cell cycle and is transiently dephosphorylated early after M phase. BRCA 1protein alters in a qualitative and quantitative manner during cell cycle progression. The amount of BRCA protein is highest during S phase and remains elevated toward G2 / M, before it declines in early G1 phase. Inherited loss of BRCA 1 function confers an increased susceptibility for both breast and ovarian cancer.
Immunogen

Tested Applications
ICC/IF,IP,WB
Immunofluorescence: assay dependent. Immunoprecipitation (with protein A): use at a concentration of 10μg / mg of lysate (co-immunoprecipitates EGFR). Western Blotting: use at a concentration of 15 - 30μg / ml for 2h at RT. Optimal dilutions / concentrations should be determined by the end user. By Western blot, this antibody detects a band of 220 kDa, which corresponds to the predicted molecular weight of BRCA 1.

This antibody also cross reacts with a 150 kDa protein which is most likely EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor).
