Product Profile
Product Name CD41a antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Mouse monoclonal antibody [HIP8] to CD41aIntegrin alpha 2b (CD41) is a calcium-depedent, noncovalently associated heterodimer and contains a heavy chain (GPIIb-alpha) and a light chain (GPIIb-beta) linked by a single disulfied bond.T he integrin alpha 2B chain interacts with the integrin beta 3 subunit/CD61 to form the platelet glycoprotein complex, gpIIb/IIIa. It is expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes. Ligands for the gpIIb/IIIa heterodimer include fibrinogen, von Willebrand factor, fibronectin, vitronectin, and thrombospondin. The gpIIb/IIIa complex is the major integrin on platelets and is important for platelet adhesion and aggregation.
Immunogen Full length native protein (purified) (Human).

Target CD41a
Tissue Specificity reconizes the GPIIb-alpha (heavy chain) of integrin alpha 2B.The CD41/CD61 complex is a receptor for fibronectin, fibrinogen, von Willebrand factor, vitronectin and thrombospondin and mediates platelets aggregation. [HIP8] blocks platelet aggregation andcompletely inhibits ADP, epinephrine, and collagen-induced platelet activation, and partially inhibits ristocetin and thrombin-induced platelet activation. This antibody is useful in the morphological and physiological studies of platelets and megakaryocytes.
Application Notes FACS: Tested on human platelets. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.5 mg per 100 ml blood (per 10 6 cells). IHC-Fr: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.:
