Mouse monoclonal [IL2R.1] to IL2 Receptor alphaThe interleukin 2 receptor alpha (IL2RA) and beta (IL2RB) chains, together with the common gamma chain (IL2RG), constitute the high affinity IL2 receptor. Homodimeric alpha chains (IL2RA) result in low affinity receptor, while homodimeric beta (IL2RB) chains produce a medium affinity receptor. Normally an integral membrane protein, soluble IL2RA has been isolated and determined to result from extracellular proteolyisis. Alternately spliced IL2RA mRNAs have been isolated, but the significance of each is presently unknown.
Immunogen
BALB/C mice were injected with recombinant human interleukin-2 receptor.
Key Feature
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG1
Clone Number
IL2R.1
Host Species
Mouse
Tested Applications
IHC-FIHC-P
Immunohistochemistry: use at a dilution of 1 / 20 - 1 / 50 for 30 - 60 mins (ABC method). Optimal dilutions / concentrations should be determined by the end user. For formalin fixed paraffin embedded sections, perform heat mediated antigen retrieval using 10mM citrate buffer pH6.0 before commencing with the IHC staining protocol.

Target Information
Gene Synonyms
IL2 R alpha, IL2R alpha, CD25, IDDM10, IL2R, TCGFR
Target
IL2-R alpha
Tissue Specificity
This antibody is specific to a 55 kDa protein known as interleukin 2-receptor (IL-2R alpha). IL-2R alpha is over expressed on the surface of activated T cell, HTLV-1 or HTLV-2 positive T cell lines and moderately expressed on activated B cells, NK-cells and macrophages.
