Rabbit polyclonal antibody to NOD2NOD2 is a member of the apoptosis regulating protein family that includes caspase recruitment-domains, as well as Apaf-1 and NOD1. It contains two N-terminal CARDs, a nucleotide binding domain (NBD), and multiple C-terminal leucine-rich repeats (LRRs). NOD2 is expressed in monocytes (whereas NOD1 is expressed in multiple tissues). NOD2 plays a role in regulating NF-kappaB, acts as an intracellular receptor for bacterial lipopolysaccharides, and contributes to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and Crohn's disease.
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide made to the C-terminal region of the human NOD2 protein sequence (between residues 1,000-1,040).

Tested Applications
WB
This antibody has been tested for Western blot of NOD2 transfected 293T lysates where a band is seen at ~110 kDa. We did not see positive results probing endogenous protein using HT29 lysates. Other applications have not been tested. Suggested working dilutions: *Western Blot: 0.5-2 ug/ml (ECL)*The investigator should determine the optimal working dilution for a specific application.
