Antigen Alias Inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase 1 {ECO:0000255|HAMAP-Rule:MF_03156}, IMP dehydrogenase 1 {ECO:0000255|HAMAP-Rule:MF_03156}, IMPD 1 {ECO:0000255|HAMAP-Rule:MF_03156}, IMPDH 1 {ECO:0000255|HAMAP-Rule:MF_03156}, 111205 {ECO:0000255|HAMAP-Rule:MF_03156}
Product description The protein encoded by this gene acts as a homotetramer to regulate cell growth. The encoded protein is an enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of xanthine monophosphate (XMP) from inosine-5'-monophosphate (IMP). This is the rate-limiting step in the de novo synthesis of guanine nucleotides. Defects in this gene are a cause of retinitis pigmentosa type 10 (RP10). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.1) Ohmann, E.L., et al. Pediatr Transplant 14(7):891-895(2010)
Immunogen This IMPDH1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 84-113 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human IMPDH1.
