| Product description | The Ras superfamily?is a protein superfamily of small GTPases, which are all related, to a degree, to the?Ras protein subfamily. There are more than a hundred proteins in the Ras superfamily.[1]?Based on structure, sequence and function, the Ras superfamily is divided into five main families (Ras,Rho,Ran,Rab and ArfGTPases). The ERAS gene, which can support embryonic stem (ES) cell tumor-like growth (1–4), was first identified in murine ES cells by Takahashi. It encodes a protein of 227 amino acids with 43, 46 and 47% identity to conventional Ras oncogenes H-ras,K-ras and N-ras, respectively, defined as a new member of the Ras family.In 2009, Kaizaki discovered?ERAS was actively expressed in gastric cancer (GC) and was closely related to its oncogenesis. These results indicate that the expression of ERAS?may be associated with cell proliferation and transformation. |
