Western blot analysis of ACVR2A on different lysates with Mouae anti-ACVR2A antibody at 1/1,000 dilution. Lane 1: K562 cell lysate, Lane 2: HepG2 cell lysate, Lysates/proteins at 10 µg/Lane. Exposure time: 1 minute; 10% SDS-PAGE gel. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% NFDM/TBST for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody at 1/1,000 dilution was used in 5% NFDM/TBST at room temperature for 2 hours. The encoded protein is a transmembrane serine-threonine kinase receptor which mediates signaling by forming heterodimeric complexes with various combinations of type I and type II receptors and ligands in a cell-specific manner. The encoded type II receptor is primarily involved in ligand-binding and includes an extracellular ligand-binding domain, a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic serine-threonine kinase domain. This gene may be associated with susceptibility to preeclampsia, a pregnancy-related disease which can result in maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality.
