Immunofluorescence analysis of MCF-7 cells using EEF1E1 antibody (green). Blue: DAPI fluorescent DNA dye. paraformaldehyde at room temperature for 20 minutes. Then, they are permeabilized with a PBS (OM750003) solution containing 0.1% Triton X-100(OM750021) at room temperature for 15 minutes. Subsequently, the cells are blocked with 10% non - immune goat serum(OM760028) at room temperature for 1 hour.The cells are incubated overnight at 4°C with the primary antibody diluted 1:100 in PBS. | Gene Summary | This gene encodes a multifunctional protein that localizes to both the cytoplasm and nucleus. In the cytoplasm, the encoded protein is an auxiliary component of the macromolecular aminoacyl-tRNA synthase complex. However, its mouse homolog has been shown to translocate to the nucleus in response to DNA damage, and it plays a positive role in ATM/ATR-mediated p53 activation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the neighboring downstream MUTED (muted homolog) gene. An EEF1E1-related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 2. |
