Product Profile
Product Name Bcl-2 antibody [100/D5]
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Mouse monoclonal antibody [100/D5] to Bcl-2Expression of bcl-2a oncoprotein has been shown to inhibit the programmed cell death (apoptosis). In most follicular lymphomas, neoplastic germinal centers express high levels of bcl-2a protein, whereas the normal or hyperplastic germinal centers are negative.
Immunogen A Synthetic peptide of human bcl-2 protein.
Key Feature
Clonality Monoclonal
Isotype IgG1
Clone Number 100/D5
Host Species Mouse
Tested Applications IHC-FIHC-PIPWB
This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:25-1:50 in an ABC method. However, depending on the staining conditions employed, we suggest that final dilution should be determined by the user. We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the user. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with Citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. IP: 1/50. WB: 1/50 - 1/100. Other types of buffer may produce false negatives.
Species Reactivity Human
Concentration 1mg/ml
Target Information
Gene Synonyms BCL2, P10415, 151430, 596, Bcl-2, Bcl 2
Target Bcl-2
Tissue Specificity The bcl-2 product is considered to act as an inhibitor of apoptosis. bcl-2 is expression is inhibited in germinal centers where apoptosis forms part of B cell production pathway. Reactive follicle show no staining for bcl-2, where as the cells in neoplastic follicles exhibit membrane staining.
Cellular Localization Endoplasmic reticulum, outer mitochondrial membrane and nuclear membrane.
Light Chain Type kappa
Positive Control tonsil
