Product Profile
Product Name MUC1 antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit Polyclonal antibody to MUC1 (mucin 1, cell surface associated)This gene is a member of the mucin family and encodes a membrane bound, glycosylated phosphoprotein. The protein is anchored to the apical surface of many epithelia by a transmembrane domain, with the degree of glycosylation varying with cell type. It also includes a 20 aa variable number tandem repeat (VNTR) domain, with the number of repeats varying from 20 to 120 in different individuals. The protein serves a protective function by binding to pathogens and also functions in a cell signaling capacity. Overexpression, aberrant intracellular localization, and changes in glycosylation of this protein have been associated with carcinomas. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different isoforms of this gene have been reported, but the full-length nature of only some has been determined. [provided by RefSeq]
Immunogen Recombinant protein encompassing a sequence within the center region of human MUC1. The exact sequence is proprietary.

Application

Application

MUC1 antibody detects MUC1 protein at cytoplasm in human cervical cancer by immunohistochemical analysis. Sample: Paraffin-embedded human cervical cancer. MUC1 antibody diluted at 1:500.

Application

Confocal immunofluorescence analysis (Olympus FV10i) of methanol-fixed A431, using MUC1 antibody (Green) at 1:500 dilution. Alpha-tubulin filaments were labeled with (Red) at 1:500.

Application

MUC1 antibody detects MUC1 protein at cytoplasm by immunofluorescent analysis. Sample: HCT116 cells were fixed in ice-cold MeOH for 5 min. Green: MUC1 protein stained by MUC1 antibody diluted at 1:500. Blue: Hoechst 33342 staining.

Application

Immunoprecipitation of MUC1 protein from HCT-116 whole cell extracts using 5 μg of MUC1 antibody . Western blot analysis was performed using MUC1 antibody . EasyBlot anti-Rabbit IgG was used as a secondary reagent.

Application

Various whole cell extracts (30 µg) were separated by 5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with MUC1 antibody diluted at 1:1000.
Positive Control MCF-7
