Product Profile
Product Name NF-H antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit Polyclonal antibody to NF-HNeurofilament are the 10nm or intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons, and are composed predominantly of three major proteins called NF-L, NF-M and NF-H. NF-H is the heavy or high molecular weight microfilament subunit and runs on SDS-PAGE gels in the range 180-220kDa, with some variation in different species. NF-H polyclonal antibody can be used to identify neurons and their processes in tissue sections and in tissue culture and the antibody can also be used to study microfilament accumulations seen in many neurological diseases, such as Lou Geri's disease or Alzheimer's disease.

Application

Application

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: 200kDa Neurofilament Heavy Antibody - rat spinal cord stained with Neurofilament Heavy [NF-H] antibody (green) and UCHL1 antibody (red). binds primarily to phosphorylated axonal forms of NF-H, and so stains axons coursing between the large UCHL1 positive neurons. These large cells are alpha motorneurons and UCHL1 is a major component of the perikarya and dendrites of these cells.

Application

Western Blot: 200kDa Neurofilament Heavy Antibody - Western blot analysis of 200kDa Neurofilament Heavy expression in rat spinal cord extract. The first lane is Coomassie Brilliant Blue stained and the second lane is probed with rabbit anti-Neurofilament Heavy antibody . The NF-H corresponds to a weight of 200kDa
Application Notes Can be used on cryostat sections and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Suggested working dilutions: * Western Blot 1:10,000 (ECL) Immunofluorescence 1:1,000 Immunohistochemistry 1:1,000 (DAB/ABC stain) *The investigator should determine the optimal dilution for a specific application.:
