Western blot analysis of Glutamine Synthetase on different lysates with Rabbit anti-Glutamine Synthetase antibody at 1/5,000 dilution. Lane 1: K-562 cell lysate, Lane 2: HepG2 cell lysate, Lane 3: Mouse brain tissue lysate, Lane 4: Mouse liver tissue lysate, Lane 5: Rat brain tissue lysate, Lane 6: Rat liver tissue lysate, Lysates/proteins at 20 µg/Lane. Exposure time: 2 seconds; 4-20% SDS-PAGE gel. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% NFDM/TBST for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody at 1/5,000 dilution was used in primary antibody dilution at 4℃ overnight. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody at 1/50,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.IF-F

| Gene Summary | The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the glutamine synthetase family. It catalyzes the synthesis of glutamine from glutamate and ammonia in an ATP-dependent reaction. This protein plays a role in ammonia and glutamate detoxification, acid-base homeostasis, cell signaling, and cell proliferation. Glutamine is an abundant amino acid, and is important to the biosynthesis of several amino acids, pyrimidines, and purines. Mutations in this gene are associated with congenital glutamine deficiency, and overexpression of this gene was observed in some primary liver cancer samples.
