Gene Full Name serine and arginine rich splicing factor 2
Gene Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the serine/arginine (SR)-rich family of pre-mRNA splicing factors, which constitute part of the spliceosome. Each of these factors contains an RNA recognition motif (RRM) for binding RNA and an RS domain for binding other proteins. The RS domain is rich in serine and arginine residues and facilitates interaction between different SR splicing factors. In addition to being critical for mRNA splicing, the SR proteins have also been shown to be involved in mRNA export from the nucleus and in translation. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein and one non-coding transcript variant have been found for this gene. In addition, a pseudogene of this gene has been found on chromosome 11. Application

WB

Western blot analysis of extracts from B16F10 cells, using SC35 Antibody. The lane on the left was treated with blocking peptide.

IHC

SC35 Antibody at 1/100 staining Mouse lung tissue by IHC-P. The sample was formaldehyde fixed and a heat mediated antigen retrieval step in citrate buffer was performed. The sample was then blocked and incubated with the primary antibody at 4°C overnight. An HRP conjugated anti-Rabbit antibody was used as the secondary antibody.

IHC

SC35 Antibody at 1/100 staining Mouse brain tissue by IHC-P. The sample was formaldehyde fixed and a heat mediated antigen retrieval step in citrate buffer was performed. The sample was then blocked and incubated with the primary antibody at 4°C overnight. An HRP conjugated anti-Rabbit antibody was used as the secondary antibody.

ICC/IF

SC35 Antibody staining Hela cells by IF/ICC. The samples were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100,then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25°C. Samples were then incubated with primary Ab(1:200) and mouse anti-beta tubulin Ab(1:200) for 1 hour at 37°C. An AlexaFluor594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG(H+L) Ab(Red) and an AlexaFluor488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG(H+L) Ab(Green) were used as the secondary antibody. The nuclear counter stain is DAPI(blue).
